Grizzly 660 Throttle StickMany owners have complained that the Yamaha Grizzly 660 throttle is defective and can become stuck in the “wide open” position.  If the throttle sticks in the open position during normal operation, riders can be seriously injured or even killed.  When the Grizzly throttle sticks riders are caught off guard and the operator is not able to stop the ATV.  Ultimately the rider is either forced to jump off while traveling at a high rate of speed or suffer injury when the ATV eventually wrecks.  Despite the fact that many owners have complained that the throttle sticks “wide open” and despite the fact that many people have been injured, Yamaha has taken no action to recall the ATV or offer modifications to fix the problem.

One Grizzly owner reported that as he was driving the woods the throttle cable stuck wide open without any prior warning of a problem.  This man had no choice but to jump off the ATV and suffer serious injuries, which required medical treatment.  Even after he jumped off, the Yamaha Grizzly throttle cable stayed stuck and it kept traveling until it hit a tree.  The owner reported that Yamaha would not even offer to repair the ATV, much less compensate him for his injuries.  The types of injuries that have been reported are:
