Andrew C. Clarke

Of Counsel

Andy began working with the firm as a law clerk in 1990 with Sadler Bailey. After graduating from law school in 1992, Andy passed the bars of Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi and worked for the firm for 14 years.  After leaving the firm, Andy continued working as a Plaintiff’s lawyer and ran his own firm for 10 years. In his 33 years of practice, Andy has only worked as a Plaintiff’s lawyer, seeking justice for injured victims. Andy has handled all types of cases over the years including car & trucking wrecks, workers’ compensation, medical malpractice, negligent security, employment law, police misconduct and civil rights cases. With a Master’s in Criminal Justice, Andy has developed excellent research skills and a specialty in civil rights cases and has handled cases throughout the southeast from Tampa to Tulsa. Andy’s early work included suing police departments utilizing the “hog-tie” which posed a risk of positional asphyxia. As a result of Andy’s early work, this practice was banned by both the Memphis Police Department and Shelby County Sheriff’s Department. Further, Andy has been actively involved in representing the injured victims of police pursuit his entire career. Andy is one of the few attorneys who has appeared before the United State Supreme Court in Scott v. Harris, 127 S.Cr.1769. Andy has also been an active writer on civil rights topics and provided presentations on civil rights law to both attorneys and law enforcement officers. Andy returned to the firm in 2025, and brings a wealth of experience. In his off time, Andy enjoys spending time with his wife and their children.  Andy is an avid fisherman and takes every opportunity to enjoy time on the water fishing with his boys.
