Fatal Tennessee Car Crash Claims Life of Greenbrier Man
According to The Tennessean, one man was killed and another injured in a one-car accident the night of January 2, 2011 near Springfield. Authorities believe that alcohol was involved in the crash. Also, neither man was wearing a seat belt.
Josh Naïve, 22, was killed when the Jeep Wrangler ran off the left side of Highway 49, close to the intersection of Owens Chapel Road. Apparently the driver lost control and the Jeep flipped and ejected Naïve and Christopher Lowe, 21. Both men are residents of Greenbrier.
This Tennessee auto accident is still under investigation, but Dalya Qualls, Tennessee Department of Safety’s Public Affairs Office, said that responders to the scene suspect that both men were drinking and that neither one was wearing a seat belt. She said, “It was determined that seat belts would have made a difference.”
Tennessee Highway Patrol officers are not sure who the driver of the vehicle was. They think that Naïve was behind the wheel, but if it turns out that Lowe was driving, he could face criminal charges.
Lowe was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was treated and released. THP has requested blood alcohol tests for both Lowe and Naïve.
The entire team at Bailey & Greer extends their sympathy to Naïve’s family and friends in this difficult time.
