Memphis Area Veterans and Spouses May Qualify for Extra Benefits
The VA Aid & Attendance Improved Pension provides extra benefits that have been earned due to service in the military. You do not have to be injured to receive these benefits. There are certain qualifications that must be met before these benefits can be claimed. Although these benefits have been available for many years, most people have never heard about this program. Eligibility depends on several factors, including:
- Whether the Veteran, spouse, or surviving spouse has been turned down by the VA
- Whether the Veteran is over 65 or permanently or totally disabled or blind
- Whether the Veteran served 90 days of active duty in World War II, Korea, or Vietnam
- Whether the Veteran received a better than Dishonorable Discharge
- Whether the Veteran, spouse, or surviving spouse requires certain medical assistance
