Nashville Couple Face Grand Jury Indictment and Lawsuit in DUI Crash
A Davidson County grand jury has indicted a pair of defendants on two counts each of vehicular homicide by intoxication and one felony count each for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon following the tragic December 2011 crash that killed two young men.
Trevor Bradshaw and Erin Brown, his girlfriend, received the indictments as a result of their alleged negligence and criminal behavior last December. Bradshaw, the driver of an SUV, struck and killed Michael Brooksher and Tommy Allen on December 10, 2011. The deceased were crossing Demonbreun Street when they were hit by the SUV driven by Bradshaw.
Brooksher, age 22, passed away on December 12, two days after the accident, while Allen later died in February of injuries sustained in this Tennessee crash.
Erin Brown, the front seat passenger in the SUV, was charged along with Bradshaw, even though she was not driving. Allegedly she gave him the keys to her vehicle, although she was aware he was impaired.
The Davidson County grand jury also named a third defendant in the case. Jordan Hawbaker, who witnessed the accident, was indicted on one felony count, accessory after the fact. Hawbaker allegedly told Bradshaw to flee the scene following the accident.
Since the crash occurred last December, the family of Tommy Allen has filed a civil lawsuit against Bradshaw and Brown, as well as the company hosting the party the two had attended just prior to the crash. In addition, Metro Government is named in the suit. Allen’s family is seeking a total of $15 million in damages.
